Community Strong has officially launched. We’re ready to tackle problems right here at home.
Our cities and towns deserve to thrive. That’s why we’re coming together as a group—workers, families, friends, and allies who advocate for Central Alberta. That means empowering everyone to unite in the pursuit of positive change, by engaging with municipal politicians, local organizations, and key decision makers.
In preparing to launch this project, we talked to so many people in our region who truly wished for better, but didn’t feel it was possible. Folks are afraid to talk to their neighbours about the real things that are affecting them and their families. Maybe they’re worried it’s partisan, or simply out of reach.
We’re here to break down these barriers and create change. And the most powerful change begins where we live. There are no parties at the local level, so it’s easier for councilors to do what’s best for us, not for their parties. We can hold leaders directly accountable on the issues we believe in.
The people of Central Alberta—that means you—know best what it needs. We want to empower people to pursue better: for themselves, their families, and their neighbours. If something’s broken, we can work together to fix it. If a need isn’t met, we can challenge the status quo.
But what are we working to fix? We’re holding our leaders accountable on:
- Public services
- Strong, safe schools
- Community health and growth
And ultimately, results. This project is all about results. We aren’t waiting around for someone else to make a difference; we’re making that difference happen. But we need you to do it.
